Flunderina's Great Ride' is like time travel, like a meditation, reaching down deep through layers of vaulted treasure. The children are off to witness the beginning of the great dance... by Lydia Du Toit, and Catherine Brennon (Illustrator)
Then the strangest thing happened - the singing
was all around them and in them.
Out came mountains and valleys and rivers with fish!
It just happened so spontaneously -
this was God singing creation into being
and they were there singing with Him,
creating too!
It felt like the most natural place to be;
it felt like this is where we all came from!
The singing continued
and in it
one could hear the
voice of God speaking:
"Light be!"
and Light was.
"Land and sea and oceans be!"
and they were -
all unfolding in the most spectacular way you could
have ever dreamed. It is beyond words; it is
God's magic!
The wonder was their voices never tired; they sang
and sang and sang.
We don't know how long this
was going on.
It felt like millions of years flashing
past them in a few hours.
Then there was silence.
It was not a scary one;
no, not one of those,
but a silence of holding one's
breath for something magnificent is about to
happen.............
